The next day, 29 Dec, it might be light rains in these districts.

Chennai needs rain. Period. We are more than 60 deficit this season. However, the system near Andaman Nicobar islands causing havoc now, may not even touch Chennai shores. Chennai Rains - Forecast for the week of 19 Dec

Not sure of depression, cyclone or whatever. We need to wait for few more days for more clarity. However, there is rain next week. How much rain...will it be another Vardah? For sure its not a Vardah. We will have rains on 20 Dec and 21 Dec. Even on 24 Dec. Will keep updating.

Closer to South Tamil Nadu coast near Tuticorin and neighboring regions might have rains …light showers from 29 Feb to 2 March.   Nagercoil can have slight showers on 29 Feb and 1st March (low chance). Kochi might have rains on Saturday 5th March. Kozhikode likely rains on 3rd / 4th March. Trivandrum might also have few showers …low chances though.
